Poor Economy, Reimbursement Rates Force Closing of Minnesota Surgery Center

The Center for Outpatient Surgery at Abbott Northwestern’s Sartell (Minn.) Outpatient Center is closing in January due to the struggling economy and reimbursement rates that were not sufficient to cover the costs of running the center, according to a report from the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.

The closing by Minneapolis-based Allina Hospital & Clinics will mean the loss of jobs for 22 employees, including 10 nurses.
