AmSurg Reports Revenues Up 17% in Q2, Completes 2 Acquisitions

AmSurg has announced a 17 percent revenue increase in the second quarter of 2013 to $269.3 million.

The company reported a pre-tax gain of $2.2 million during the first half of the year related to the deconsolidation of a surgery center that AmSurg contributed to a newly formed joint venture with a hospital system partner.

The company acquired 17 centers in 2012 which have performed during the first half of this year. During the second quarter, the company completed acquisition of two centers, bringing total centers in operation to 243. An additional five centers were brought under the letter of intent during the second quarter.

For the third quarter, the company expects flat same-center revenues as well as center acquisitions that generate annualized operating income around $25 million to $29 million.
