The project proposal includes a $2 million renovation of a vacant Lockport, N.Y., location that would be the surgeons’ new practice location.
The Department of Health attributed their disapproval to the project to the surgeon’s lack of a financial plan and doubt that the ASC would meet the public’s needs. The surgeons have the opportunity to plead their case in Albany.
Though this project is on hold, Eastern Niagara Health System has received approval to build a $5.6 million multispecialty ASC in Lockport.
