HHS Issues Final Health IT Patient Safety Plan

HHS announced the publication of the final Health IT Patient Safety Action and Surveillance Plan to ensure health IT systems do not jeopardize patient safety.

The final plan addresses recommendations from the Institute of Medicine’s 2011 report, “Health IT and Patient Safety: Building Safer Systems for Better Care,” and public comments, according to the news release.
