C. diff Epidemic Prompts Mayo to Open Specialized Clinic

Epidemic C. diff levels have prompted the Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic to open a clinic specifically for patients with C. difficile, according to a Mayo Clinic press release

The clinic will accept referrals and will manage cases of C. diff that are not responding to traditional methods of treatment.

In addition, the clinic will host clinical trials of experimental therapies for C. diff. as well as continued studies of C. diff treatments, outcomes and epidemiology.
