Dr. Jeffrey R. Carlson Performs Virginia’s 1st Outpatient Robotic Lumbar Fusion Surgery With Spine Frontier Instruments

Dr. Carlson completed the first outpatient posterior lumbar disc fusion surgery using SpineFrontier instruments at Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News, Va.

The 58 year old patient was able to return to work ten days after the surgery, thanks to “advancements in surgical technique [that] allow [physicians] to perform minimally invasive spine procedures, making recovery much easier for the patient,” said Dr. Carlson in an interview on PRWeb. 
 
Dr. Carlson is chief of surgery at BSMIH as well as president of Orthopedic and Spine Center in Newport News.
