A news release from the American Society of Anesthesiologists said that this finding is contradictory to an earlier finding from a retrospective analysis by the same researchers, who are based out of the Cleveland Clinic.
The new study is a follow-up prospective trial, and the researchers involved stress the importance of following up on retrospective studies to arrive at the best outcomes for future patient care, according to the ASA news release.
