Griffin-American Healthcare REIT II Acquires Des Plaines Surgical Center

Griffin-American Healthcare REIT II, co-sponsored by American Healthcare Investors and Griffin Capital Corporation, has acquired 21 medical-related buildings for $141.3 million dollars, including the Des Plaines (Ill.) Surgical Center.

Des Plaines Surgical Center is a 47,000-square-foot, three-story facility. It houses 11 tenants, including Golf Surgical Center. Golf Surgical Center is a joint venture ambulatory surgery center operated by physicians and Advocate Lutheran Hospital in Park Ridge, Ill.

Griffin-American Healthcare REIT II now holds 174 buildings, which were acquired for an estimated $1.56 billion.
