Wayne State University Names Dr. M. Roy Wilson President

M. Roy Wilson, MD, ophthalmologist and director of strategic scientific planning and program coordination at the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities in Bethesda, Md., has been chosen as the next president of Wayne State University in Detroit, according to a report by The Detroit News.

Dr. Wilson has previously served as chancellor at the University of Colorado in Denver and president of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock.  

The university is expected to officially announce Dr. Wilson’s new position next week.
