Healthcare Billing & Management Association Works to Make Billing Processes Less Burdensome

Healthcare Billing and Management Association announced support for devices to streamline healthcare processes, including CAQH’s electronic funds transfer tool.

As per the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, providers will be required to offer EFT as of January 2014. CAQH’s tool will reduce the burden on providers and billing personnel, according to HBMA leaders.

The organization is also meeting with payors such as Aetna, UnitedHealthcaer, Wellpoint and CIGNA to develop administrative simplification models for ICD-10.
