CMS Releases Updated ICD-10-PCS Codes, Information

CMS released updated procedure files for ICD-10-PCS, including an updated “Official ICD-10-PCS Coding Guidelines” document and new code tables and index that add four procedure codes for new technologies.

The official coding guidelines document gives information on ICD-10 cooperation with organizations such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, American Hospital Association and American Health Information Management Association.

ICD-10-PCS will replace ICD-9-CM, volume 3. ASCs will continue to use CPT codes for procedural coding.
