Clinical Specialties Recalls All Sterile Products

The FDA announced that Clinical Specialties is voluntarily recalling all lots of sterile products repackaged and distributed by the pharmacy due to a lack of sterility assurance.

This recall follows Clinical Specialties’ recall of Avastin due to reports of eye infections associated with the product. While there have been no reports of contamination with sterile products other than specified lots of Avastin, the company is recalling all sterile products due to concerns about practices at the site that may not assure sterility.

The recalled products were distributed between Oct. 19, 2012, and March 19, 2013.
