Stanford University Researchers Develop World’s Slimmest Endoscope

A Stanford University research team, led by Joseph Kahn, has created an endoscope comprised of a single optical fiber, according to a New Scientist report.

The endoscope prototype, which is approximately the thickness of a human hair, is currently able to show objects 2.5 micrometers in size.
