About 33 percent of the 260 providers in the study have not yet started their switch. When asked the reason for slow progress, 71 percent of respondents said lack of time, according to the report. About 40 percent are frustrated with inadequate support from vendors. Still, 55 percent said they have no doubt about meeting the Oct. 1, 2014 deadline.
The survey also found a majority of participants are confident the deadline will not be pushed back again, and about 75 percent believe coding education is the biggest gap in conversion plans.
