Kareo Launches Free EMR Software For Improved Billing, Patient Interaction

Irvine, Calif.-based Kareo launched its new electronic health record, a free application available with the company’s practice management and billing services or stand-alone.

The application is geared toward smaller practices and works with iPads and iPhones or Web browsers. Kareo, which specializes in cloud-based medical software, is working to help healthcare practices better share information with patients, e-prescribe medications and improve electronic workflows, according to the report.

The EHR technology was developed by Epocrates and is combined with Kareo’s software platform.
