Baltimore OB/GYN Dies at 81

Sylvan Frieman, MD, a retired Baltimore-area obstetrician and gynecologist and former medical director at Central Maryland Surgery Center, recently passed away, according to a report in the Baltimore Sun.

Dr. Frieman also served as a senior attending physician at Sinai Hospital, Church Home Hospital, Franklin Square Hospital Center and Harbor Hospital, all in Baltimore, and was a clinical assistant professor at Johns Hopkins Medical School.

Dr. Frieman earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1953. He completed his internship at the former District of Columbia General Hospital in Washington, D.C., and completed his residency at the old Lutheran Hospital in Baltimore.

Dr. Frieman served in the Air Force until 1956 and worked in private practice for nearly 40 years.
