The Medical Group Management Association conducted a survey from 1,000 group practices and 26,000 physicians. Of the respondents, 18 percent reported they were participating in a new Medicare payment delivery model or demonstration. Those who are not participating cited the lack of predictability in current Medicare payments as the main barrier.
Eighty-two percent of participants said they would be likely to explore these new methods if stability were restored to the system.
