Florida Clinic Operator Sentenced in Medicare Fraud Scheme

Mike Williams Tosca Martinez, who operated a pain clinic in Oakland Park. Fla., was sentenced to 14 years in prison and ordered to pay $3.4 million for his role in a $3 million Medicare fraud scheme, according to the South Florida Business Journal.

Mr. Martinez and four other individuals, including three chiropractors, allegedly solicited individuals to undergo medically unnecessary treatments and billed Medicare.

Two other co-defendants previously pled guilty, and the other two will be sentenced next month.
