Donald Bell Named First CRNA to Chair Tennessee Board of Nursing

Certified registered nurse anesthetist Donald Bell has been elected chairman of the Tennessee Board of Nursing, the first CRNA to be named to chair the state organization.

Mr. Bell is a clinical associate professor of nursing at the University of Tennessee. He is also the program administrator and coordinator of UT Medical Center’s Nurse Anesthesia Concentration.

He is a past president of the Tennessee Association of Nurse Anesthetists and has served on committees of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.

He received his master’s degree in nurse anesthesia from the Gooding Institute of Nurse Anesthesia Bay Medical Center in Panama City, Fla., and his master’s in health education from UT. He also holds a master’s degree in nursing and a doctorate of nursing practice from UT Health Science Center in Memphis.
