Dr. Su is accused of performing at least one breast augmentation surgery at the Institute. According to the report, the surgery was performed on April 16, and the woman returned to Dr. Su on June 3, where an implant was reinserted. She was later admitted to a hospital on June 15 with an infection in the surgical area.
Investigators with the state Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance found that the Institute was stocked with expired and unlabeled medications and found “severe breakdowns in infection control practices, including sterile supply breaches,” according to the report. The bureau also said that the use, operation and maintenance of sterilization equipment was lacking in documentation.
The Board of Medical Examiners and the Nevada Board of Pharmacy are conducting their own investigations into the Institute.
