Small Towns Recruit Physicians, Staff With Loan Repayment Plans

Smaller communities are attempting to attract physicians and medical staff members by offering medical school loan payback assistance, according to a Bloomberg report.

Some healthcare providers, such as BJC Medical Group in St. Louis, Mo., recently began to offer repayment plans as part of compensation packages for physicians. Nebraska, meanwhile, has attracted physician assistants to the state with loan repayment program incentives since 1994.
