“We’re in the middle of a test study that will show that microfiber, when saturated with disinfectant, loses a large portion of its cleaning abilities because the microscopic crevices that make microfibers work so well in the first place become flooded,” said Shaun Sweeney, vice president of sales and marketing for Cygnus Medical. “We’re introducing a ribbed microfiber with a polyester fabric that doesn’t flood and allows you to leave a proper amount of disinfectant.”
Ideal for operating rooms, the mop heads contain a highly absorbent foam core that also helps to pick up large volume spills.
