Dr. Thompson was 88. He died May 21 in his home in Seattle.
He earned his MD from Howard University in Washington, D.C. He held positions at Ramey Air Force Base Hospital in Puerto Rico and a Veterans Affairs hospital in Seattle before establishing his practice and creating a gastroenterology and internal medicine lab for Providence Health and Services. Dr. Thompson was also a clinical professor at the University of Washington.
