Surgery Center Developers Seeks Funds From Casino for Infrastructure

Benson Construction and Development is seeking funds from the Seneca-Allegany Casino in Salamanca, N.Y., to extend sewer and water lines from Allegany to the site of an unoccupied building that the developer plans to convert to a surgery center, according to a report by The Buffalo News.

The planned 20,000 square-foot, $5 million surgery center requires sewer and water infrastructure in order for its Certificate of Need to be granted by the state.

If approved by legislators, the funds will be provided from casino revenue accounts earmarked for economic development. An exact figure has not been released.
