Ophthalmology Company Amakem Appoints Dr. Steve Pakola as CMO

Amakem, an ophthalmology company that develops treatments for eye conditions, has announced the appointment of Steve Pakola, MD, as the company’s chief medical officer, according to a news release.

Dr. Pakola has more than 15 years of industry experience, including experience in preclinical and clinical development, regulatory affairs and medical affairs. He previously served as CMO at ThromboGenics, a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing ophthalmic medicines.

 

Prior to joining ThromboGenics, Dr. Pakola served as associate director of cardiovascular clinical research at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals.

 

He received MD from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was awarded the Charles A. Oliver Ophthalmology Prize.
