David Ayers is the CEO of Nueterra Healthcare.David Ayers is the CEO of Nueterra Healthcare, a national management and development company that pioneered the physician-ownership business model in surgical facilities. Mr. Ayers has three decades of experience developing, building and managing ambulatory facilities. including surgery, imaging, physical therapy and urgent care centers.

In his leadership role, Mr. Ayers oversees a team of healthcare professionals who lead the development, management and growth of surgical facilities. He also offers leadership in management and clinical operations. Nueterra recently became an owner and manager of an ambulatory surgery center that functions as a joint venture between Michigan’s Beaumont Health System and physician-investors. Nueterra acquired a minority interest in and assumed day-to-day management of the ASC at Beaumont Medical Center in Macomb Township, Mich., on Jan. 1.

“Our new relationship with Beaumont Health System is the result of Nueterra’s focus on developing innovative strategies that help health systems achieve their long-term goals for growth and profitability,” Mr. Ayers said in the release. “We are excited to work with Beaumont, a nationally renowned leader in surgical services, and with local physicians and the center’s excellent surgical staff in the delivery of high-quality, efficient outpatient surgical care.”

As an owner and manager, Nueterra will focus on adding surgeons to the ASC and reducing costs through the use of Nueterra’s group purchasing contracts.
