Sirum, which stands for Supporting Initiatives to Redistribute Unused Medicine, was founded by a group of Stanford graduates seeking to help uninsured patients while curbing the environmental hazards that accompany the disposal of unexpired drugs.

The nonprofit enables healthcare centers and drug companies to donate unused prescriptions to pharmacies working with uninsured patients.
