The proposal would require that applicants for licenses to operate a home health agency, medical equipment provider or a health clinic be a resident of the United States for at least five years or file a bond of at least $500,000. Applicants would also be required to submit proof of financial ability to cover the costs of the business.
Regulators feel that the tighter restrictions will reduce the growing amount of healthcare fraud that has recently been occurring in the state.
