SB 297 was voted out of the Senate Committee on Public Health, Human Services, and Revenue.
The bill, supported by the Association of Wisconsin Surgery Centers and Wisconsin Medical Society, passed out of committee by a unanimous 5-0 vote. The bill now moves to the full Senate, and would have to go through the same process in the Assembly.
Under current law, the Department of Revenue may impose the assessment on ASCs. ASCs would no longer be subject to such an assessment if this legislation is enacted.
If enacted, it would become effective July 1, 2013.
