Prexus will provide co-management, billing, coding, transcription and other services to University General Hospital under the agreement.
"University General Hospital is the first of what we hope to be many facilities owned and operated by APS and Prexus under our alliance. We anticipate that University General Hospital will complement our existing investment and management relationship with Doctors Diagnostic Hospital in Cleveland, Texas, a small town just north of Houston. These hospitals, together with Basin Healthcare Center which is under construction in Odessa (anticipated to open at or around year-end), will bring to three the number of Prexus affiliated hospitals in Texas, giving us stakes in seven such hospitals nationwide," said Prexus CEO Ajay Mangal, MD, MBA, in the release.
