The bill, sponsored by Sen. Joe Vitale (D), newly defines single-OR facilities as “ambulatory care facilities” and mandates that they be licensed by DHSS within one year of enactment.
Single-OR facilities certified by CMS or accredited by an accrediting body recognized by CMS are exempt from the physical plant requirement and ambulatory care assessment fee. The fee will be assessed if the facility adds more ORs.
The legislation now moves to the Assembly floor.
