The board found that Richard Salluzzo, MD, inappropriately prescribed controlled substances to family members and others without creating a medical record. Dr. Salluzzo was also found guilty of inappropriately obtaining controlled substances for his own use.

As a result, the board reprimanded Dr. Salluzzo and fined him $3,000. Dr. Salluzzo, a graduate of Tufts University Medical School, is board-certified in internal medicine and has been licensed in Massachusetts since 1988. He stepped down as CEO of Cape Code Healthcare in Nov. 2010.
