Surgeon Develops Laser Surgery That Changes Brown Eyes to Blue

Gregg Homer, MD, a Laguna beach-based plastic surgeon, announced he has developed a laser surgery that can change brown eyes to blue, according to a SmartPlanet report.

Dr. Homer said the procedure clears away the melanin in the stroma region surrounding the iris and reveals the blue underneath. The procedure takes 20 seconds per eye and the change to blue is complete after a few weeks. Dr. Homer is already warning hopefuls the procedure is permanent. Although it’s a few years from being available, Dr. Homer expects the price to be around $5,000 for each eye.
