The system, called MC-5A, uses electrodes to deliver slight electrical stimulation on the skin that sends a “no pain” signal back to the brain. Three clinical trials have shown the method to be more effective than narcotics. Forty patients will be part of the placebo-controlled, double-blind randomized controlled trial.
