In his presentation, Mr. Webb discussed a number of issues including the role group purchasing organizations can play in helping ASCs improve the performance of their supply chain and why ASCs should work to take full advantage of their GPO relationship.
“It’s time for ASC leaders to raise their expectations for their GPO,” said Mr. Webb, in the release. “Beyond price discounts, ASCs need GPOs to help maximize their contract utilization, analyze their supply use patterns, standardize the number of items they purchase, improve their inventory management, find savings beyond the supply cabinet and provide a level of service that has so far been lacking.”
