Cottage Medical Group has opened Cottage Urology Clinic in Goleta, Calif., expanding its urology services on California’s Central Coast, the Santa Barbara Independent reported Sept. 22.
The clinic evaluates and treats kidney stones, urinary incontinence, enlarged prostate, erectile dysfunction and pelvic organ prolapse. It also screens for and treats prostate, bladder, kidney and other urologic cancers. Surgical options include robotic prostatectomy, robotic partial nephrectomy and minimally invasive treatments for benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Three board-certified urologists and a physician assistant staff the clinic:
- Julie Chacko, MD, has practiced in Santa Barbara since 2004. Dr. Chacko focuses on BPH, urinary stone disease, vasectomy, female urology and pediatric urology.
- David J. Laub, MD, trained at Kaiser Permanente Foundation Hospital in Los Angeles. Dr. Laub specializes in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgery.
- Pierre-Alain Hueber, MD, PhD, holds dual board certification and completed a urologic oncology and robotic surgery fellowship at the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Hueber treats prostate, kidney and bladder cancers.
- Thomas Bosma, PA-C, has practiced urology in Santa Barbara for more than 14 years.
The clinic pairs cancer-focused robotic surgery with general urology in one location, which gives Goleta-area patients access to both routine and complex urologic care close to home.
