Schenectady, N.Y.-based Ellis Medicine has acquired CareNet Medical Group, an independent women’s health and OB-GYN practice that has served the Capital Region since 1983, according to a Sept. 9 news release.
CareNet’s four physicians and one physician assistant, previously based in Niskayuna and Clifton Park, both in New York, are relocating to existing Ellis Medicine facilities as part of the transition, and patients will keep their current appointments, care plans and providers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Bringing this outstanding group into the Ellis family allows us to build on that successful relationship while making a clear investment in the future of women’s healthcare,” Jackie Montgomery, Ellis Medicine’s chief nursing officer, said in the release. CareNet’s providers previously held privileges at Ellis’ Bellevue Woman’s Center in Niskayuna, which delivers more than 2,000 babies annually.
