Oklahoma City topped Doximity’s list of highest-paying metro areas for physicians, while Durham-Chapel Hill, N.C., ranked lowest, according to the company’s 2026 Physician Compensation Report.
Doximity, a digital platform for U.S. medical professionals, released the report Aug. 25. It draws on salary data from more than 23,000 physicians collected in 2025, along with a survey conducted in June on how AI is changing physician careers and pay, according to a company news release.

- Rochester, Minn.: $478,861
- Los Angeles: $469,047
- Louisville, Ky.: $465,924
- San Francisco: $462,806
- Omaha, Neb.: $460,973
- San Jose, Calif.: $459,691

- Seattle: $456,523
