PRISM Vision, the ophthalmology platform McKesson acquired in April 2025, is set to acquire Spectrum Vision Partners from private equity firm Blue Sea Capital, according to documents reviewed by Healthcare Dealflow, an M&A intelligence platform.
As of Aug. 26, 2026, neither company has publicly announced the deal, according to a news release shared with Becker’s.
Spectrum Vision Partners, headquartered in New York, is an eye care management services organization with more than 50 ophthalmology practices, more than five ASCs and more than 140 doctors across five states in the Mid-Atlantic and New England. Its flagship practice is OCLI Vision. Blue Sea Capital has backed the company since 2017.
Healthcare Dealflow traced the pending acquisition to a certificate of need determination request filed Aug. 17, 2026, with the Connecticut Office of Health Strategy. A Connecticut facility affiliated with Spectrum Vision Partners filed the request, which outlines the pre- and post-transaction ownership structure: from McKesson through US Oncology and PRISM Vision Holdings to the acquiring entity, NJEYE.
The deal extends a wave of private equity-backed MSO sales to strategic acquirers in specialty care. Since January 2025, McKesson, Cardinal Health and Cencora have each struck platform deals in ophthalmology, urology, gastroenterology and oncology, including Cardinal Health’s acquisition of Solaris Health from Lee Equity Partners and Cencora’s acquisitions of OneOncology, Retina Consultants of America and EyeSouth Partners’ retina business.
