The University of Toledo (Ohio) earned full accreditation for its Doctor of Nursing Practice in Nurse Anesthesia Program.
The program continues the nurse anesthesia education previously offered at Sylvania, Ohio-based Lourdes University, which closed at the end of the 2025-26 academic year. The school offered the only nurse anesthesia doctoral program in Northwest Ohio, according to an Aug. 24 news release from the University of Toledo.
University of Toledo’s 36-month program prepares graduates to sit for the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists exam and includes seven clinical rotations.
The first 12-student cohort began their summer semester at Lourdes University before transitioning to the University of Toledo for the fall semester.
Angella Ruley, DNP, who ran the program at Lourdes, joined the University of Toledo as the program director, the release said.
