Chicago-based GI Partners of Illinois, an independent GI group, and New York City-based Century Health, an AI data company, have entered a strategic partnership to build a real-world data ecosystem and advance GI research.
With data including physician notes, pathology reports, laboratory data, imaging and endoscopy reports, the two organizations will create independent data ecosystems that will support research on gastrointestinal diseases and improve patient outcomes, according to an Aug. 18 news release from Century Health.
The data sets will provide life sciences organizations, academic researchers and pharmaceutical companies with longitudinal data to increase understanding of disease progression, treatment effectiveness and patient outcomes.
Inflammatory bowel disease and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis are among the conditions the research will target.
The collaboration will use Century Health’s AI abstraction model to pull data that has historically required manual abstraction, the release said.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
