Naples (Fla.) Comprehensive Health has opened the NCH Robotic Surgery Institute, an outpatient surgery center for minimally invasive robotic procedures.
Independent community physicians and NCH-employed surgeons will work in the shared environment, and support procedures across specialties including general surgery, urology and vascular surgery, according to an Aug. 3 news release from NCH.
The medical center currently performs nearly 2,000 robotic surgeries each year and will increase that number with the new surgery institute.
Surgical technology at the institute includes the da Vinci 5 and da Vinci Single Port robotic systems, the release said.
