AtlantiCare appoints anesthesiology, gastroenterology physician leaders

Atlantic City, N.J.-based AtlantiCare has named four new physician leaders in anesthesiology, gastroenterology, cardiothoracic surgery and women’s health. 

Here are the new appointments, according to a July 29 news release from AtlantiCare:

  • Scott Falk, MD, was named chair of anesthesiology. In the role, he will lead efforts to advance quality, safety and innovation in perioperative care.
  • Latha Alaparthi, MD, was named chief of gastroenterology. Dr. Alaparthi has more than 24 years of experience in clinical practice, academic medicine and healthcare leadership.
  • Chun Choi, MD, was named vice chair of heart and vascular services and chief of cardiothoracic surgery. He is a cardiac surgeon and physician leader specializing in complex cardiac surgery, heart and lung transplantation and mechanical circulatory support.
  • Woojin Chong, MD, was named chair of women’s health. She will help advance women’s health services, improve patient outcomes and expand access to care.
