New York’s Eastern Niagara Hospital Plans $5.6M Surgery Center

Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport, N.Y., expects to receive contingent approval from the state health department to open a $5.6 million ambulatory surgery center, according to a Buffalo Business First report.

The hospital plans to build a 13,490-square-foot center at the site of its existing extension clinic, with the name changing to Eastern Niagara Ambulatory Surgery Center. The center is expected to employ 18 staff members and include four operating rooms.

The hospital plans to offer orthopedics, plastic and reconstructive surgery, interventional pain management, gastroenterology, endoscopy, gynecology, urology, otolaryngology and ophthalmology procedures at the center. Eastern Niagara predicts the center will see 3,265 patient visits by the end of its first year.
