Balloon sinuplasty, developed by Acclarent, uses a small catheter and balloon to expand blocked sinuses and treat the common symptoms of sinusitis, such as headaches, toothaches, nasal discharge and severe fatigue.
Michael Armstrong, MD, of Richmond ENT, has performed the procedure for five years at the surgery center, and Matthew Bridges, MD, of Commonwealth Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists, also performs the non-invasive surgery.
The center was recently recognized as a balloon sinuplasty “center of excellence.”
