The citation comes after the department’s investigation, which uncovered that five nurse’s aides at Prentiss Center for Skilled Nursing Care physically abused and intimated a patient, according to the news report.

Meanwhile, a county grand jury has indicted two of the nurse’s aides for the patient abuse. The patient abuse was discovered on a hidden camera installed by the patient’s son. The health system has since fired three nurse’s aides and disciplined five others, according to the report.
The victim is being moved to another nursing home, “in order to ensure her safety and welfare,” according to the report. The victim’s son claims, however, the hospital’s move was in retaliation for the hidden camera and moving would be difficult on his mother.
