Cleveland-based University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s has appointed Robert Gajarski, MD, as chief of its division of pediatric cardiology, effective July 1, 2026.
Dr. Gajarski has worked closely with UH Rainbow in recent years through the Congenital Heart Collaborative with Columbus, Ohio-based Nationwide Children’s Hospital, according to a June 9 news release.
He joins the role with experience in pediatric cardiology, cardiac critical care and healthcare quality and safety leadership. During his career, Dr. Gajarski served as section chief of the Heart Center at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. He also held leadership roles as medical director of the cardiac intensive care unit and medical director of the heart failure, transplant and pulmonary hypertension program.
In addition, Dr. Gajarski served in system-level quality and safety positions, including director of quality and associate chief quality and safety officer, according to the release.
His appointment comes as UH Rainbow continues to expand its pediatric heart care programs and its work through the Congenital Heart Collaborative.
