John Inadomi, MD, was inducted into the Association of American Physicians during its annual scientific meeting in Chicago.
Established in 1885, the AAP is an elected society recognizing physician-scientists for contributions to research and patient care, according to a May 1 news release.
Dr. Inadomi was recognized for his work in randomized clinical trials and decision analytic modeling. His National Institutes of Health-supported research has shaped national screening guidelines for colorectal cancer and esophageal adenocarcinoma, including those from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force.
He joined Salt Lake City-based University of Utah Health in 2020 as the Jon M. Huntsman presidential chair and chair of the department of internal medicine, according to the release.
Dr. Inadomi is one of 72 physician-scientists elected to the AAP in 2026 and one of 14 current members based in Utah.
