The quality initiative is an effort to raise awareness of proven models of quality improvement, coordinated care and disease management that can help improve the quality and value of healthcare. Currently, approximately 400 hospitals participate in National Surgical Quality Improvement Program, which is based on collecting clinical, risk-adjusted, 30-day outcomes data in a nationally benchmarked database.
