Health Care REIT Appoints John Thomas as Executive Vice President – Medical Facilities

Health Care REIT has announced the appointment of John Thomas to executive vice president – medical facilities, according to a company news release.

In this role, Mr. Thomas will oversee the company’s investment in hospitals, outpatient facilities and medical office buildings, and provide executive leadership of the development and management services groups.

"We are very pleased to have an individual with John’s exceptional talent and capability join our organization," said George Chapman, chairman and CEO of Health Care REIT, in the news release. "He has extensive experience in the development and operation of a broad range of healthcare properties, plus a network of relationships with healthcare executives throughout the country. He will play a key role in achieving the company’s strategic objectives and strengthening our position as the preferred capital, development and property management partner for health systems."

Mr. Thomas’ previous work included serving as president and chief development officer of Cirrus Health.
